What’s this Indie Crafts about?
Indie crafts is all about the wonderful world of designers, artists and craftspeople who make their products without the involvement of those big corporate business.
Where does the Scandinavian come into it?
Well Eddie Danish so that by default gives us a Scandinavian twist. It’s all about the minimalistic style blended with a bit of a romantic look and the use of bold colours. That’s our definition anyway!
Why is it called Grey Duckling?
It’s a twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s Ugly Duckling – another Dane like Eddie. The Grey Duckling is not really a duckling – it’s a stylish and beautiful swan. Having said that Eddie actually prefer ducks to swans, but that’s another story.
Is Grey Duckling all about you then?
It’s about Eddie and the stuff she make and does, but it’s also about John and his illustratios, and about sharing the things we like and admire in the crafting community.
Is this the only place you blog?
No, Eddie is also editor for the ‘Historic Crafts‘ blog and we have a personal blog ‘Roued is …‘ where we talk about other hobbies like cooking, genealogy and photography. Eddie is also a co-editor on the Refashion Co-op community blog.
Eddie can also be found on twitter (@EddieDuckling or @HistoricCrafts) where she provide smaller glimpses of the stuff we do and make while sharing interesting links. She also shared on Pinterest.
Who designed the website?
Eddie did! She dabbles in web-design and building web-applications. But for this blog she has made great use of the wonderful WordPress community. It uses a Thematic parent template with our own child template. The colours are from the Color Lover palettes Delicious and Say it ain’t so. The duck and ducklings banner is a drawing by John.
Do you use other peoples images and can I re-blog your images?
Yes we sometimes use other peoples images and when we do we credit them and link to where we found them. You are also most welcome to re-blog or share our images as long as you credit us and link pack to the page where you found them. The use and re-use of our own and other people’s images is something we care deeply about. If you do to – please read our page on the subject.
