In 2010 I took the pledge to become a Wardrobe Refashionista. This quickly became a wonderful opportunity to use some of my vintage Singer sewing machines (see here and here) and meet like minded people from around the globe. I have even met a couple of fellow Singer addicts – who would have thought.
Being a refashionista allows me to combine two of my passions. One is recycling, reusing and second-hand shopping, the other is fashion and making my own clothes. It was proved to be a wonderful journey so far.
Unfortunately, only 2 months in Wardrobe Refashion was put to pasture and I lost this great new place to show of my refashions and get inspiration from others. The blog will stay online as an archive but it will close for new posts. What to do? Well I chatted with a fellow refashionista, Erica (from Recycled Fashion) and came up with the idea of the Refashion Co-operative. The idea has evolved and there are now 7 editors (myself included) who are trying to get a new refashioning blog up and running (january 2011). Keep tuned!
Together with Erica, I also began to interview other refashioners under the guise of Refashion Interviews. This has got a page of it’s own.
As for this page – my personal refashion space. It will be filled with my own refashions and also my inspiration collection posts where I ask – how would you refashion it?
